The history of the Pontians, their struggles and sacrifices, as well as their rich tradition, are elements that deserve to be preserved and developed. This heritage is deeply rooted in the culture of Greece, but the need to staff the organized Pontic space for the dissemination and continuation of Pontic cutlure, especially by young people, is even more urgent. The renewal and integration of young people is crucial for the future of the Pontic community, as well as its evolution in modern society, which is changing at a rapid pace.
The organized Pontic space is a living cultural and social entity, it is an important pillar of support for the cultural space. The language, dances, music and traditions are the foundations of the Pontic identity. However, the modern era, the way of life, globalization and the change of priorities, lead young people away from these memories. The disappointment of young people from traditional and conservative standards, as well as from their connection with the past, has the result of interrupting the continuity of tradition. However, the need to staff the organized Pontic space by young people, with the aim of modernizing it, within logical frameworks, correct decisions and a progressive tone, is necessary in order to keep the Pontic heritage alive and harmonize it with the twenty-first century and with the modern demands that tend to appear in our lives.
The Panpontic Federation of Greece as a secondary association, but also the local Pontic associations as primary associations are called upon to highlight the importance of this participation, through activities that strengthen the Pontic identity, but mainly the unity of the area. The modern challenge for the Panpontic Federation of Greece is to succeed in inspiring young people to get involved in the cultural and social life of both the Pontic community and society in general, at a local and Panhellenic level. The participation of young people in cultural events. competitions, dances, seminars, speeches, trips, discussion forums, round tables, have as their main goal the activation, participation and integration of young people in the entire unified Pontic space.
The voluntary and social activities aim to strengthen the community, as well as to create new leaders who will take on roles in both secondary and primary associations in their locality. This constitutes an important step for the continued development of the space and the cultural life of the country. The youth can therefore actively contribute to the progress of the cultural movement. By using technology and digital media, they can highlight with modern means the dissemination of Pontic culture, Pontic history and propose ideas that will be able to contribute to the ultimate goal, the internationalization of the Genocide of the Pontic Greeks.
In conclusion, it is imperative for primary and secondary associations, which bear the exclusive responsibility of creating appropriate conditions for encouraging youth participation, to do the right thing. The staffing of the organized Pontic space is a necessity and is considered decisive for the future of the Pontic community, as well as the continuation of the Pontic cultural heritage. This is achieved only through the participation of young people, so that the space remains alive, capable, progressive and dynamic in order to be able to cope with the new challenges of today's era.
